Day - 1 » Mumbai - Tellicherry via Calicut
Morning flight to Calicut and on arrival meet your drier and proceed north
along the Malabar Coast to Tellicherry. Stay overnight at Ayisha Manzil a
140 -years-old colonial style bungalow, belonging to the Moosa family, it is
situated on a hillock overlooking the Arabian sea. The bungalow is simply
furnished with family antiques and consists of six bedrooms all with en
suite bathrooms.
Day - 2 » Tellicherry - Coorg
Morning at leisure.a fter lunch leave for scenic drive to Coorg, nestling
in the Western ghats at 800 metres above sea level. Stay for two nights at
the orange Country Resort.
Day - 3 » Coorg
This morning take a short forest walk from Orange Country, with a local
guide, to a tribal village.
Day - 4 » Coorg - Nagarhole National Park

This morning it is a scenic drive 70 kms south to Nagarhole National Park,
which claims populations of tiger, leopard and elephant as well as over 250
species of birds. vIsit the park byjeep, on elephant backand in a coracle.
Stay two nights at the Kabini river Lodge or at Water Woods a small six
bedroom bungalow, beautifully appointed, and situated on the banks of the
Kabini River.
Alternatively, from Coorg it is just 100 kms to Mysore where you could stay
for two nights before continuing onto Nagarhole or Sultan Battery. Details

Day - 5 » Nagarhole
A day to explore Nagarhole, with plenty of opportunities for wildlife
viewing.
Day - 6 » Nagarhole - Sultan Battery
Today it is a short scenic drive to Sultan Battery, in Wynad district in
the heart of the Western Ghats, to stay at Tranquil a secluded plantation
bungalow on the Kuppamudi Coffee Estate. This 70-year-old sprawling bungalow
consists of two buildings joined by an open veranda with planters
furniture andmuch use of wood.the plantation owners and the resident
director Victor Deyand his wife, who are also your hosts,have beautifully
restored the house. Tranquil offers eight spotless bedrooms, all
individually designed, with modern bathrooms.
Alternatively,for those in search of nature, stay at the Treehouses at
Vythiri, in Wynad, just 45 ms from Tranquil. Set in the heart of virgin
forest you will be surrounded by misty mountains, sparkling streams and many
varieties of tree ferns, mosses and plants. Eco- friendly accommodation
consists of cottages by a stream and one double bedroom Treehouse and one
Treehouse with two double bedrooms. These unique treehouses are built 30
metres above the forest floor by local craftsmen using ethnic materials and

Day - 7 & 8 » Sultan Battery

At leisure to swim in the beautiful pool or lounge in a hammock. For the
more energetic Tranquil has 400 acres for you to explore with 7 defined
paths ranging from a short easy stroll through the coffee fields to a
challenging up hill trek to Look Out Rock. You could also visit the nearby
Edekal Caves where the rock carvings date back to 2500 BC or the nearby
Muthanga National park.
Day - 9 » Sultan Battery - Cochin
Today drive south to Cochin, stopping to visit the home of the temple
elephants at Guruvayur. Arrive Cochin late this afternoon where over the
centuries the Portuguese, Dutch and British have all influenced this
fascinating city. Stay at the Brunton Boatyard Hotel overlooking the sea in
Fort Cochin.
Day - 10 » Cochin
This morning visit the synagogue, dutch Palace, St Francis Church and
the spice market. In the afternoon take a harbour cruise to see some of the
nearby islands and the legendary Chinese fishing nets.
Day - 11 » Cochin - Mumbai
Return by air to Mumbai. Alternatively, you may decide to take a two night
houseboat cruise on the Kerala backwaters, or spend a few days at the Marari
Beach resort at nearby Mararikulam.
