Jog falls are described as the highest untiered waterfalls in India, i.e., it cascades directly and does not stream on to rough rocks. The most fascinating part of Jog falls is its four distinct waterfalls. These wonderful cascades offers a spectacular scene of sublimity and supernatural grandeur. The “Raja” fall gushes down in one unbroken column to the depth of 830 ft. In the mid, it is encountered by “Roarer”, another wild fall, which rushes downwards at an angle of 45 degree to meet its consort. The third one is “Rocket” which shoots downwards in a series of jets. Last and the fourth fall, “Rani” enchants visitors mind and soul. It quietly cascades downwards, forming a sheet of foam.

By Road: National highway number 206 connects Jog fall with the capital city of the state Bagalore. Enroute Bangalore – Shimoga – Sagar – Jog. The Jog falls is 378 km from Bangalore, which is roughly 6 hours drive.
